Beyoncé finds herself entangled in a legal case as members of Da Showstoppaz have launched a lawsuit, alleging copyright infringement regarding a sample used in her chart-topping hit "Break My Soul" from 2022. Members Tessa Avie, Keva Bourgeois, Henri Braggs, and Brian Clark, filed the suit in Louisiana federal court, asserting that Big Freedia's 2014 track "Explode," which Beyoncé sampled, unlawfully appropriated "copyrighted lyrics, melody, and musical arrangement" from their own 2002 composition, "Release a Wiggle."
