The Kashmir Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, who has earlier helmed The Tashkent Files. The film is based on video interviews of the first generation victims of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus.
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took to Instagram to pen down an open letter explaining the ordeal that he has gone through and what made him quit Twitter. He clarified that his account has not been suspended but he has deactivated his account because of the hate he is receiving online for his upcoming film - The Kashmir Files.
