Sangeeth Sivan was set to make a comeback in Bollywood on the big screen after the failure of his last film, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, in 2013. Kapkapiii, a remake of Malayalam hit Romancham, was set to star Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor in the lead.
On May 8, we learn this heartbreaking news of the demise of prolific director-cinematographer Sangeeth Sivan. The elder brother of acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan, Sangeeth had directed popular films in Malayalam like Yodha, Gandharvam, Nirnayam, et al, and in Hindi like Zor, Kya Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money. When he passed away, the director was in the works of his upcoming horror-comedy, Kapkapiii (remake of the Malayalam film Romancham). The director's last Insta post was a pic with one of the lead stars of his Hindi film, Tusshar Kapoor, and scriptwriter Saurabh Anand.
