Following the heartbreaking incident of rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, an old video of actress Mallika Sherawat calling India a "regressive" country for women went viral. Simultaneously, another old video of Priyanka Chopra reacting to Mallika Sherawat's statement has resurfaced online. In a video from 2013, Priyanka Chopra was asked by a journalist to share her thoughts regarding Mallika's comments about women's safety in the country. She said, I think they were very callous, and I don't agree with her. It was upsetting for me as a woman. It was upsetting for me as a girl who comes from India. I think it was an extreme representation of our nation, and I think it wasn't fair. I think we are a progressive nation, I disagree that we are a regressive nation. We are all sitting here and talking about educating girl child taking the country forward.
