Akshay Kumar's film Mission Raniganj has had a slow start at the box office, managing to earn just Rs 2.75 Crore on its opening day. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the film is based on a real-life event when 65 miners were trapped in a coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. Akshay Kumar portrays the character of Jaswant Singh Gill, who successfully saves the lives of all those miners.
