Times Now – Every location and every character, big or small, are heroes in this film. The dialogues are a mix of colloquial wisdom and existential homilies. Nobody speaks for effect, though. There is a natural, unhindered flow to the words and the storytelling in this film. These are exceptional qualities in a film that has neither action nor Shah Rukh Khan (the two selling points that bring audiences into movie theaters).

DNA – The story isn't new, but the narration style is. The plot of a group of four people going for a mountain-clad adventure trip reminded me of Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai. But what worked for me was the screenplay and its narration. The performances are another major highlight of the film.

Zoom – In a world filled with overhyped blockbusters, Dhak Dhak is a quiet triumph that deserves to be celebrated for its refreshing take on storytelling, genuine character portrayal and thought-provoking themes.
