Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who was arrested in 2015 in connection with an INR 200 crore extortion case, made an unusual offer to filmmaker Karan Johar's company, Dharma Productions. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the conman proposed to acquire a 50-70% stake in Dharma Productions. The letter shared by Sukesh's PR team read, "This is a letter of intent in regards to acquiring a major portion of stake in your company, Dharma Productions. Offering a no-negotiation deal, he stated that the transaction could be made within 48 hours. Sukesh stated that he would like to contribute to the expansion of Dharma Productions through his company LS Holdings. The letter read, "For me, movies are not just a business, but a passion and an emotion, as I am personally a movie buff. I am sure this offer may seem unusual coming from the walls of Asia's largest prison, but Karan, the best and wonderful things happen from extraordinary situations, places and people." He also said that the "Love of his life", Jacqueline Fernandez, holds deep respect for Karan Johar. The news comes amidst the massive INR 1000 crore deal between Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla and Karan Johar for a 50% stake in Dharma Productions. Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla To Acquire 50% Stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions; Billionaire Businessman To Invest INR 1000 Crore.
