Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, was released in the theatres on June 27, 2024. The mythological sci-fi directed by Nag Ashwin received much praise from audiences and went on to become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in India. Despite the massive success, Arshad Warsi didn't seem quite happy with the film. Appearing on UNFILTERED by Samdish, the Jolly LLB 3 actor said, "Maine Kalki 2898 AD dekhi jo mujhe acchi nahi lagi. (I saw Kalki 2898 AD but did not like it)." Speaking about Prabhas, he said, "I am really sad but he was like a Joker. I want to see a Mad Max yaar. Kyon karte hai aisa mujhe nahi samajh aata hai (Why have they made it like this. Why do filmmakers do this, I will never understand)." Soon after Arshad Warsi shared his opinion regarding Prabhas and the film, fans took over social media and reacted to it.
