Tesla’s VP Sreela Venkataratnam Resigns After 11 Years, Says ‘Not for the Faint of Heart’

Sreela Venkataratnam, Tesla’s Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, announced her departure after 11 years during which she played a key role in scaling the company from less than USD 1 Billion to nearly USD 100 Billion in annual revenues. She emphasised the challenges and global expansion efforts, including the launch of multiple Tesla models.

Sreela Venkataratnam, Tesla’s Vice President of Finance and Business Operations announced “After 11 incredible years, I bid farewell to Tesla." She reflected on her journey, which began in 2013 when Tesla was a smaller company with less than USD 1 Billion in yearly revenues. Venkataratnam played a key role in Tesla’s growth and contributed to its rise to nearly USD 100 Billion in annual revenues and a market cap reaching at USD 1 Trillion during the pandemic. She further emphasised the challenges of her role, noting that working at Tesla "is not for the faint of heart." She highlighted her involvement in scaling operations globally, from launching new models like the  Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y and the Cybertruck to expanding Tesla’s presence across Europe and China.
