One of the powers of sport is that it teaches its adherents the quality of perseverance and struggle. And the most beautiful part of sports is that it does not discriminate between people and its disciples. But Alas! Governments and sporting authorities do not do so. An image going viral on Twitter shows Zimbabwe National Rugby Team players sleeping in the street last night in Tunisia ahead of a Rugby World Cup qualifier on Saturday against Tunisia.
The image was shared by Rugby writer Eric Njiru and he also wrote in his tweet that before the team was forced to sleep on street, "they were held at the Airport for 6 hours as they could not raise €600 for Visa processing."

The Rugby Africa and Tunisia Rugby Union has issued a statement on the whole issue. Check out the tweet with their apology message:

Rugby Africa representative said in its message that "I apologise on behalf of Tunisia Rugby Union, we pride ourselves in hosting Rugby Africa tournaments every year and make every effort to meet the best international standards." One wonders if this apology is a case of too little and too late.
