David Dobrik and Liza Koshy – both 21-years-old – have been described as the Posh and Becks of YouTube announced their separation in an emotional video that they posted online. The pair had been dating each other since 2015 and built a combined audience of more than 20 million YouTube followers. In the video, the couple admitted the pressure of their YouTube careers had been a factor in their split.
In the video the couple also revealed that they split six months ago but waited until this week to tell their fans. During the sex-minute video, the pair explained that Koshy had made the decision to split and that she was ‘going through some issues right now’.

“You never know what could happen, but just not now,” David said in the recording. Liza and David agreed that their careers and the pressures that come with their fame contributed to their decision to go their separate ways. “Liz broke up with me because she felt like we’ve been distant because we’ve been so busy,” said David. “As much as I hate to admit it, I was feeling it on my side too, but I just don’t have the balls to pull the trigger on that.”
Many fans have reacted with shock and upset to the news. They took to Twitter to express their sadness. One fan said that it was the ‘worst day ever’.
Liza Koshy, 21, gained notoriety online for creating Vine videos in 2013. In 2015, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue her dreams of becoming a full-time Youtuber. Within two years she had become the fastest YouTuber star to reach 10 million followers. Liza also hosted the 2017 Golden Globe Awards pre-show and conducted interviews on the Met Gala red carpet.
While David Dobrik, 21, was born in Slovakia though he was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Before Youtube, David was popular on the now-defunct video app Vine. He had more than 1.3 million followers there. The net worth of the couple is four million dollars, individually. The video became the number one trending video on YouTube and garnered more than 4.9 million views in under 24 hours.
