Young King Dave Passed Away! ‘I got loud’ Weed Meme Fame Died at Age 19

An aspiring rapper, instagrammer, credited as the inventor of the term ‘Doink’ for large joints and popular for surfacing the internet with cool weed related memes; Young King Dave tragically passed away at age 19. The news of YKD aka David James Nixon’s sad demise came on May 17 when his Instagram bio change to announce his death. “With deep regret we would like to inform you that YKD passed away and is at peace. He will be greatly missed. #doinkinpeace,” reads the message. His death came as a shock to all his fans.

The 19-year-old Young King Dave is a resident of Middletown, New Jersey and was popular for his memeable catch phrases that includes “I got loud” and “smokin’ big doinks.” Motherboard reported that YKD has been in a hospital for the past few weeks as he was suffering from a collapsed lung. David’s friend, Chris Clemenza informed in the same report that YKD died from complications during recovery and hospital stay.

King Dave’s friend said on Instagram that he had “an infection that he let go too long for stupid reasons. But it got so bad they had to put him in a medically indicated coma. Then he died.”

“It’s fuckin’ nice out! Who’s down to chill and smoke some loud, feel me? I got loud,” said YKD in a January 2017 video.

Dave was pursuing a rap career and made music with his friends in their hometown. Motherboard further reported that a GoFundMe campaign has been set up in his honour to cover all his funeral expenses and donations to Make a Wish Foundation. His unique style and observation about nature and yes for lightening some loud made him the viral sensation. May his soul rest in peace!
