Do you remember Yathaarth Murthy? Last year, he was in the news for making the country proud as he entered the Limca Book of Records for “singing the most number of national anthems”. Well, he earned the glory because, as of September 8, 2017, he could sing 112 national anthems. But you will be surprised to know that the 12-year-old is gearing up to mark his name in the Guinness World Records as he can now sing over 210 (and still counting) national anthems. Yes, you read it right! However, only 195 countries are signatories to the United Nations - which includes 193 member nations and two non-observer states: Palestine and the Holy See.

While sharing details with LatestLY, Yathaarth’s mother Shilpa Spoorthy proudly said, “As of today, Yathaarth can sing 210 (and counting) national anthems and has mastered them all in the span of three years. He will be gunning for the Guinness World Records in about four categories in the coming days.” He learns with the help of both printed materials and online videos. At such an early age, he became the first individual in the world to achieve this feat. A student in Vidyashilp Academy, Yathaarth aims to being an 'Anthem-ologist' one day; someone who studies national anthems of different countries. His success does not end here. He is invited as a TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) Speaker at TEDx ISBR (International School of Business and Research), Bangalore which is to be held on March 10, 2018. He has further been selected at TEDxYouth@CAMS and Bezos talks to be held in California on April 20, 2018. Feathers of victory in his cap!

Here is the list of nations whose national anthems are known to Yathaarth

Yathaarth's love for National Anthems

Rabindranath Tagore is his inspiration and he aspires to learn the national anthems of the lesser known countries to create awareness about their existence and culture to the world. Yathaarth wants to travel around the world and be the first individual to sing National Anthem on their respective soil. “He wants to spread the message of world peace and saving the environment for his generation and the future ones. He wants to inspire kids and parents alike,” his mother adds. This is no ordinary feat and with constant support from his parents, he is confident to achieve his dream as he represents India on the global stage.
