World Heart Day 2018: List of ‘Dil’ Songs Straight From Bollywood’s Heart to Nurse a Heartbreak
So, these were some of our favourite songs that have ‘Dil’ word in its title and a lot of feelings.
World Heart Day is celebrated annually on September 29. The yearly observance and celebration are done to increase awareness about the cardiovascular diseases. Apart from this international day, we have our Bollywood who simply love talking or shall we say sing about the heart aka ‘Dil,’ the Hindi word for this blood-pumping organ. While World Heart Day is aimed at raising public awareness on complicated heart issues, Bollywood with its musical gems is trying to fix your broken heart. Be it first love or heartbreak, and it is impossible for lyricists to pen down a song and not have ‘Dil’ word in it. So, this World Heart Day 2018, here’s our list of favourite melodious masterpieces straight from Bollywood’s heart to nurse a heartbreak. World Heart Day 2018: What’s The Story Behind The Heart Symbol?
1. Dil Mein Mere Hai Dard-E-Disco
Definitely, the wackiest and peppiest heartbreak song to heal your broken heart is Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dil Mein Mere Hai Dard-E-Disco” from his 2007 blockbuster film Om Shanti Om. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh with the chorus from Marianne D'Cruz, Nisha Mascarenhas and Caralisa, Dard-E-Disco is the first song you got to hear this World Heart Day! LOLing.
2. Dil Tu Hi Bataa
Here’s another memorable Bollywood song featuring the word ‘Dil’ in its title. Now, what makes “Dil Tu Hi Bataa” truly special is not exactly because of the song or music, but it has more to do with its lead pair – Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan. Yes, yes, yes, the once co-stars-turned-foes looked such a delight in this romantic track, something that does not look like happening in the near future again.
3. Dil Sambhal Ja Zara Phir Mohabbat
Emraan Hashmi movies are well-known for their soulful songs and “Dil Sambhal Ja Zara Phir Mohabbat” from Murder 2 is one such masterpiece. Mohd Irfan, Arijit Singh and Salim Bhat have lent their voices for this melodious track featuring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez.
4. Yeh Dil Deewana
Another song just perfect to heal a heartbreak is “Yeh Dil Deewana” from Pardes. Once again you have the King of Romance, Shah Rukh Khan teaching one and all on how to survive a broken heart. From breaking into carefree dance sprees to driving his race car in picturesque locales to bungee jumping, this Subhash Ghai classic movie song sung by Sonu Nigam has it all.
5. Dil Se Re
Shah Rukh Khan is everyone’s guru when it comes to love matters. This tuneful, heart-touching song by AR Rahman featuring SRK and Manisha Koirala is just too good. Rahman’s musical melody or the on-screen pair’s chemistry, Dil Se Re from Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se is everything.
6. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
“Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” is my absolute favourite song on this topic. Sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Vinod Rathod, Karsan Sargathia, this heart-rending musical gem will leave you emotional. And then you have Aishwarya Rai, Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan at their supreme form in the acting department. This song is just too excellent to miss.
So, these were some of our favourite songs that have ‘Dil’ word in its title and a lot of feelings. While listening to these may not necessarily fix your broken heart, but it will definitely make you take heartbreak as a learning curve. And the most important lesson to learn on the occasion of World Heart Day is to take care of your precious little heart. Heartbreaks or heart issues, do not let anything affect your life adversely.
