World Health Day 2018: Sudarsan Pattnaik Raises Healthy Awareness With His Beautiful Sand Art
World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 every year to raise awareness about the necessity of good health.
Globally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a carving on Puri beach in Odisha raising awareness on World Health Day. He took to Twitter sharing a picture of his sand art with 'Health For All' written on it. He shared the picture on social media with the caption, "Today is #World HealthDay. My SandArt with message #HealthForAll at Puribeach in Odisha. [Sic]"
One of the most popular sand artist in the country, Pattnaik often shares his work on social media. He puts his work on display to hundreds who visit the Puri Beach. Along with social awareness days, he also carves in the sand during festivals and days of national and international importance. Pattnaik also runs Sudarsan Sand Art Institute of Puri where he trains students the art form.
World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 every year to raise awareness about the necessity of good health and how to achieve it under the sponsorship of World Health Organization (WHO). In its 70th anniversary year, WHO focuses on 'Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere' so that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship.

This year on World Health Day, WHO focuses on increasing the life expectancy by adding good health to the lives of people and promoting healthier living habits.
Pattnaik had created a record by creating a 30-feet-high and 60-ft-wide sculpture of Lord Jagannath last year. The sand art had become an instant hit among tourists with hundreds pouring in from the pilgrim town of Puri to see the artwork.
