Woman Screamed ‘I am God, I am God’ & Tried Opening the United Express Flight Cabin Door Mid-Air
The woman was wrestled and appeared to be on the lap of a fellow passenger until she is flipped into the corridor and restrained. The customer was restrained, and law enforcement officials met the flight at the gate, where all passengers safely deplaned.
A United Express Flight 5449 that was travelling from San Francisco to Boise, Idaho was in strain when a woman passenger tried to open the aircraft cabin door mid-air. A video was released on March 5, which captured how the woman being tackled as she ranted about being God. Passengers intervened to take down the woman who was heard screaming, ‘I am God, I am God.’ The woman was wrestled and appeared to be on the lap of a fellow passenger until she is flipped into the corridor and restrained. Despite her horrific disrupt, the plane that reportedly had a total of 73 passengers on board managed to land in Boise safely at the scheduled time.
A spokesperson said that the “unruly customer” was controlled and the flight was able to land safely without hurting any commuters. The representative Layne Watson of SkyWest flight was quoted in a media report saying, “SkyWest flight 5449, operating as United Express from San Francisco to Boise, landed safely in Boise after reports of a customer attempting to open the aircraft door. The customer was restrained, and law enforcement officials met the flight at the gate, where all passengers safely deplaned. The unruly customer was held for questioning by law enforcement.”

The woman was reported to be taken into the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and was placed under medical assessment and possible charges have been sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
This is not the first time when a passenger attempted to open the cabin door in mid-air. Last year, in August, a young man on board in an American Airlines Flight tried to open the exit door while the plane was descending to land at Minnesota. Again, in May 2017, an Air Canada Flight was forced to make an emergency landing when an aggressive passenger allegedly began harassing flight crew and attempted to open the plane’s cabin door.
