  • After her schooling and college, Lucy pursued nursing and graduated as a children’s nurse from the University of Chester in 2011.

  • She joined the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital shortly after turning 22 in 2012.

  • She had quite an active social life with gym, salsa dancing classes and cherished family connections.

  • But behind this very ordinary life, she had a dark, sinister side that ended up killing children for whose benefit she should have been working.

  • In 2015, a record spike was reported in the mortality rate at the neonatal unit.

  • The manner of child deaths included physical assaults, tampering with IV bags, and injecting air into the bloodstreams of little ones.

  • She attacked vulnerable infants using calculated methods and some very brutal ones. However, she did not show any remorse later on. In fact, she sent out condolence messages to the parents of the deceased.

  • During the trial and investigation on her, she repeatedly denied harming any children. But the police found a handwritten note in her home which read, “I am evil. I did this.”
