On the occasion of India’s 69th Republic Day, a video has surfaced online showing a 13-year-old Rudra Pratap Singh claiming to know the National Anthems of 18 countries. At the time when kids are being stressed by studies and their homework, imagine a student, studying in eight standard, singing national anthems of 18 countries! The feat has given us some major global patriotism goals. In an age, where grown-ups would struggle to become proficient while singing India’s National Anthem; this kid has undoubtedly won hearts.

Social Media, over the years, have become a prominent part of our life these days. And why not? After all, the increasing trend has revealed many hidden facts and meaningful reasons to celebrate. Internet with the help of these social media platforms – Youtube, Facebook, Twitter etc. – have unearthed talents which weren’t seen on media channels before.

Meet Rudra

But is he the only one? Go back in history, put a little stress; and let the memories of 2017 refresh. Last year, when India was celebrating its 70th Independence Day; a 11-year-old boy mastered the National Anthems of 114 countries. The then 11-year-old wonder, Yathaarth Murthy, knew about 114 anthems – 68 of which were in languages other than English.

“In 2015, my music teacher (who teaches Hindustani Classical and Western) made me sing the National Anthems of Japan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. I was instantly fascinated,” Yathaarth was quoted in The Economic Times in August 2017.

This little boy aspires to become an ‘anthem-ologist’; someone who studies National Anthems of different countries. This is no ordinary feat! Yathaarth learnt India’s National Anthem – Jana Gana Mana – at an early age of three; his interest in reciting anthems of other countries sparked when he understood the emotional value that went behind the compositions of these Anthems. He runs his own YouTube channel – Yathaarth Murthy – which actively portrays his talents.

Guinness World Records holder Capri Everitt, who sung 80 Anthems of 80 countries around the world to raise money for orphaned and abandoned children, is definitely the source of inspiration for these amazing children. However, both the boys aspire to set their own stature globally.

While Yathaarth is working on his pronunciation with the support of his parents to overcome his weak points; Rudra, on the other hand, plans to learn 100 Anthems by the age of 21.

Well, both the boys are undoubtedly genius at their own pace. And, we surely cannot wait to see these little champs glorifying our nation’s pride at the Guinness World Records!
