Coimbatore, September 15: A three-feet long cobra was rescued on Sunday morning from a village near Coimbatore. The cobra, white in colour, initially caused confusion among the onlookers after it was spotted. However, on close inspection it was confirmed that the snake was a cobra. The three-feet long snake was rescued and later released into the jungle. The snake was found in Edayarpalayam. The spotting of the white cobra is a rare phenomenon. The cobra generally found in India are wheatish and black in colour. The reason cobra snakes can be white in colour comes down to two reasons: either different genetic disorders - they is they can be albino or leucistic.
