Google never stops surprising us on every occasion with their unique and fun creations. On the April Fools’ Day 2018, Google Maps is helping the world to find Waldo, who loves to travel around the globe—Where’s Waldo? On Android, iOS and in your desktop you will see Waldo pop up in red and white stripes, smiling and waving at you. And he is not travelling alone. He has got his beloved friends Wenda, Woof, Wizard, Whitebeard and also the wicked Odlaw. And they will be hiding in Google Maps for a week!
Waldo pops out on the side of your Maps screen after he is rolled out to your phone or desktop. All you have to do is tap at his waving figure and play; now you are on your way to find him wherever in the world he is hiding.
Let the journey begin!
Waldo and his friends just left Google in California for an awesome adventure.
Can you spot them with Google Maps?
When you find him, don’t forget to let us know with #WaldoMaps! https://t.co/jIFTOOgrUm pic.twitter.com/bparGZOWw4

Once you find Waldo, you will be transported to places all around the world to search him over and over again. Users can also win wonderful and wacky badges throughout the journey every time they find Waldo and his friends. In fact it also states that there will be a Google Assistant component to this campaign; you can ask—“Hey Google Where is Waldo?” on your Chromebook or Home device. Isn’t it fun?
This is the second time that Google has incorporated a cool creation for users to have their share of fun. The last time was in early March this year, to celebrate Mario Day replacing the navigation arrow with Nintendo’s Mario; inside a cart of course—Oh Yeah! Mario Time! And this time it seems that Google just have a bit of April Fools’ Day fun last a little longer. Google Maps is also encouraging players to share their finding Waldo experience using the hashtag #WaldoMaps on Twitter and Instagram. If you are bored, you can find Waldo, if your hands are busy, ask Google Assistant; Where is Waldo and if you are driving, find him later. Also remember finding Waldo’s friend Woof is a challenge because all you can see is his tail!
