Chengdu, February 11: In a near escape incident, an 8-year-old minor girl fell into a giant panda enclosure in China. The incident took place on Saturday in South West China's Chengdu city. In the video shared by CGTN, it can be seen that the girl fell into the enclosure when she was sitting on the fence. The clip shows a guard trying to help the girl by using a bamboo pole, Later, when the panda comes close to the girl, the guard abandons the stick and extends his arm, managing to pull the girl up. The guard was identified as Liu Guihua who has been widely appreciated for his brave act since the video went viral. The girl was sent for medical examination and was reunited with her family. In the incident, no one was injured.
Meanwhile, it is worth to know that Panda as not so cute and docile as they appear, and even zookeepers maintain a safe distance after they turn 2-years-old. The Beijing Youth Daily reported that a number of tourists at the base is much higher during the Chinese New Year season. On the incident day, the number of visitors in the park had exceeded the 30,000 marks.
