New Delhi, July 27: Heavy rains continued to lash Delhi-NCR for the second day on Friday, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas. However, videos that were going viral on Thursday showing flooding on "Hindon Elevated Road" in Ghaziabad were fake, said the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) today.
The GDA issued a statement on Twitter saying that an examination of the video clip shows an elevated road with crash barriers painted black and white whereas the crash barriers of the Hindon elevated road are painted yellow and black.

Even as a portion of the elevated road, in Ghaziabad's Raj Nagar Extension, was shut for traffic for a brief period after heavy rainfall, the GDA assured the residents of Delhi-NCR that people could continue to use the toad as there is no threat to its stability.

News agency ANI also clarified today saying that the road shown in the video clip was NH-24 near Delhi's Indraprastha Extension and not Ghaziabad's Hindon Elevated Road. "The location given in this tweet is incorrect. Our error is regretted. The video was taken from NH 24 near Delhi's IP Extension yesterday," ANI said in a tweet and removed the earlier video.
