A touching gesture by Bengaluru City Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar is winning hearts on social media. Proving the age-old adage, 'Respect is earned' a top cop returned a salute to a young boy on the road. A video doing rounds on social media shows the top cop along with his colleagues leaving Bengaluru's Mallya Hospital. A boy in school uniform who happens to pass by salutes the cop as a mark of respect. To which the policeman stopped and returned the salute. The candid moment which was caught on camera is now being widely circulated on the internet.

Bengaluru City Police who are quite active on social media posted the video on Facebook with the caption, "A respect given by a uniform to a uniform shows the value of discipline. Commissioner of Police, Shri. T Suneel Kumar, IPS and a schoolboy respecting each other, capturing the proud moment of respect and discipline." The video has raked up more than 1,20,000 likes in two days. The officer is being lauded for showing respect to a young boy. The clip has been shared more than 1,500 times with social media users commending his heartwarming gesture.

T Suneel Kumar took over as Commissioner of Bengaluru Police last August. He was earlier the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Managing Director of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation. He took over the charge from Praveen Sood who was transferred out just seven months into the job.
