A ticket examiner saved a life of a passenger, Sandeep Sonar, 20, who was on board the Pushpak Express at Kalyan station, Mumbai and was about to fall of the train. The incident took place at around 9:30 am today at platform no. 4 when Sashikant Chavan, 48, chief ticket inspector had alighted the Pushpak Express after duty. He noticed the passenger leaning out of the train while it was departing from the station and grabbed him by the collar.

After getting off at Kalyan station, Chavan was standing facing the train while having a conversation with his colleague. As captured in the CCTV camera installed at the platform, we notice how swiftly Chavan ran towards the passenger who was hanging on the door and leaning towards and pulled him on to the platform. Had he not done that, the passenger could have fallen in the gap between the train and the platform.
Sashikant Chavan is a resident of Ambernath and has been working for the Central Railway for 26 years. His presence of mind and prompt action saved a life of a young boy.
