This Valentine's Day 2019, will witness the release of 'Lingering Wine', a song by Mumbai-based musician Pragya Pallavi who is a genderfluid artist. The song will talk about same-sex love and various aspects to it. The song that will be released on February 12 is part of the album 'Queerism'. It will be the first time and Indian queer artist released an album based on LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer, intersexual, asexual)community. The music video is set in the backdrop of Kerala's Fort Kochi featuring actors Kani Kusruti and Pragya as a lesbian couple. It is a love song and traces the emotions of two women deeply in love with each other. It mostly has women and trans people and is co-written and directed by Deepa Vasudevan, queer artist and founder of Kerala-based NGO Sahayatrika. The album which has nine tracks talks about issues faced by the members of the queer community and touches on topics including feminism, global warming, celebrates decriminalisation of Section 377 and other social issues. Pragya told The Times of India that second song from the album is on women empowerment and hence will be released on Women's Day. She also expressed happiness in the recently released Bollywood movie Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga that is based on same sec love. She also said that more movies should be made about the LGBTQIA community. The report stated that the album's crew also includes DJ Lolly, makeup artist and stylist Ananya and Pranna. Pragya believes as pop music is widely consumed, her art will help a number of people understand the topic better.
