Voting for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has begun in the country on Thursday morning. Polling is being held for 91 Lok Sabha seats across 20 states and Union Territories in the first phase today. As the voting season has gripped the country, a video from outside a polling booth in Baraut, Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has left amused social media users. Baghpat Lok Sabha constituency covers the entire Baghpat district and parts of Meerut, Ghaziabad districts and Shamli district. A group can be seen playing the dhol as voters walk inside the booth. As the video is being shared widely on social media, internet users praised the efforts of elections officials who are encouraging voters to exercise their right by voting. Tight security has been implemented in all constituencies that are going to polls today. In the first phase, voting is taking place in eight constituencies of Uttar Pradesh today. Polling began in Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddh Nagar seats at 7 am on Thursday. Voting will be held across 16,518 polling booths set up inside 6,716 polling centres across the eight constituencies. Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place in seven phases with the last phase of voting on May 19. The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
