A teenager who did not have a date to go with on prom, wore a half suit and half dress. 16-year-old Wyatt Cheatle at Brighton High School in Rochester in New York wore the 'unique' attire that his mom helped create to his junior prom held at St. John Fisher College on Saturday. The idea started as a joke, but Wyatt actually ended up wearing it to his prom. For the making of the attire, Wyatt and his mother Kelly Cheatle brought the required dress materials from Goodwill. Mexican Law Student Dresses Up As Spider-Man for Graduation Ceremony: Watch Viral Video.

Kelly who was glad seeing the results took it to Reddit on Monday following which it went viral. She titled her post saying as 'My son's date for the prom was all right'. It further reads, "Literally. So my son was flying solo to the prom, and decided that he'd be his own date. One thing led to another and the week before the big event, he decided rather than going with a boring old suit, we'd split the difference and send him in a half suit/half-dress. After a mad dash to the local thrift store, lots of cutting and rearranging, we were done. Didn't quite have time to find him shoes to match, but there's always senior prom hahahaha."

A black and white dress, a fuchsia pussy-bow blouse, a purple dress shirt, and a pair of black pants went into the making of the outfit. Both of them together stitched the blouse and skirt on one side of the pants and the shirt. He accessorised with an earring, a star-shaped barrette and a wrist corsage. One side of his face had pink lipstick and eye make up.

The post went viral with people praising the guy's stand to take himself to the prom. A comment read, "That's awesome and very, very clever. Obviously a confident, self-assured young person with a great sense of humour. Bravo to both of you!"

Another wrote, "That's a young man with positivity and confidence. What a great idea. Took creativity and talent to put together. Well done." Rochester Democratic and Chronicle quoted Wyatt as saying, "I decided to go myself, 'cause frankly it's easier than finding out who's going with who, or who's not going. 'So I figured I'd be my own date, since I know myself better than any other person. I figured I'd have a good time."
