Washington DC, November 12: A couple in the United States recently helped their pregnant pit bull give birth to several puppies but were shocked and surprised when one of them was born with a green colour. The couple has been identified as Annise Tooley and Greg Fucich. The pregnant pit bull named Pearl gave birth to numerous puppies; however, it is reported that one of the puppies had a green-coloured coat, which set her apart from her siblings.
Notably, pit bull Pearl gave birth to the puppies on Sunday, November 3, at Hancock County in Mississippi, reports People. It is reported that the "unique" puppy took birth with the same pink ears and nose as her siblings but stood out for its green colour. "Why are one of my puppies that my American Pit had ... green?" Tooley said while recalling her Google search. The Google search led the couple to information about biliverdin. Biliverdin is a natural pigment that can sometimes mix with a dog's amniotic fluid. It is reported that biliverdin, which allegedly colours bile and some bruises, can stain a puppy's fur green in the womb if present in the dog's amniotic fluid.
