Bollywood films have given us some of the most dramatic love stories with several plot twists. In the 'happily ever after' endings, heroines have found their way to the true lover, despite all odds. Two men fighting over one woman is not too novel, but something similar with a twist in Bengaluru recently. A real-life drama took place on the Bengaluru-Nelamangala highway which saw two 'husbands' fighting over one woman, Shashikala. The major twist in the plot was Shashikala going away with a third man altogether!
The entire drama unfolded in broad daylight at the Bavikere Cross, a tiny village junction on NH-48. Two men Chikkabidarukallu Murthy and Siddaraju got into a fight. The passersby tried to stop them but it was in vain. Their fight halted the traffic on the road as motorists stopped to look at the drama, of men fighting over the woman. The Nelamangala Police arrived and took all three of them to the police station. Kin of Bihar Man, Gone Missing in Bengaluru in Dec 2017, Demands CBI Probe.
The police revealed details of Shashikala's relations and they are sure complicated! Shashikala has been married thrice in the past. She was currently staying with Murthy since the year 2017. But he was already married and has two sons. Siddaraju, a cab driver proposed to her and since he was a bachelor, she decided to marry him. Shashikala and Siddaraju were standing on the bus stand when Murthy came and started hitting the other guy. The fight only intensified. But what was a big shocker was Shashikala denied being with any of them! She told the police, "Both are my friends and are jealous of each other." On asked whether she would marry any of them, she plainly said a no. A third person had arrived at the station, who claimed to be a friend of hers and she walked away with him. The entire scene was sure more confusing than a film plot. Her first marriage lasted for 10 years but after that, she has moved on too quick. The woman too seemed to be confused with her lovers and her track record of stability in relationships is sure a bigger mess. Her story is a real example of the idiom 'Where two are fighting, the third one wins.'
