A bizarre of an event was held in China recently which saw the contestants fighting with their legs, rather toes. A toe-wrestling competition was held at a water park in Chongqing city, and the reason was quite funny yet valid, if we may say. This toe-wrestling competition was to prevent the swimmers from getting any cramps. So there were more than 80 participants who fought and laughed simultaneously as they got ticklish while playing the game.
The opponents lock their feet and have to put the other person's foot down. While some took the sport quite seriously, others enjoyed by splashing waters on each other. It was a one-minute game, thus nail-biting for those who played with all their might and putting their best foot forward, literally. The 'cheaters' distracted their opponents by throwing water at them. But it was all in all a fun game, which involved everyone with equal enthusiasm. Plus, the result was beneficial as there would be no cramps, as the muscles would be relaxed. The videos from this competition have been revealed and it looks like some good fun to watch.
Wach the video of the funny toe-wrestling competition held in China:
The winner of the competition got free tickets to the waterpark. The organisers of this competition said this game serves an excellent warm-up to those hitting the pool. One of the spokespeople was quoted, "Our visitors always get muscle cramps while swimming, especially in their legs and feet. This always happens when they forget to stretch and warm-up before going in the water."
The game of toe-wrestling may sound bizarre, but it was invented in the 1970's. It started as a game between four drinkers in Staffordshire, UK. It is now gaining a little popularity, and an annual competition is held in Derbyshire. Fans of the game have even asked it to be made a sport for the Olympics, so you know how enjoyable it can get!
