To Remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi of His Promises, Odisha Man Embarks 1350 KM Journey to Delhi on Foot
Muktikant said that the Indian flag has given him the courage to embark on the journey and he is confident that he will get to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that he can request him to fulfill the promises made years ago.
A 30-year-old man from Odisha is on a mission to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfil a promise he made to him and his village four years back- that of upgrading the Ispat General Hospital into a super speciality hospital and construction of the Brahmani bridge, both of whom, he says, have the power to save or break lives.
In his extra-ordinary courage of reminding the Prime Minister of his promises, Muktikant, an idol-maker, has embarked on a journey of 1350 km- from Odisha to New Delhi, on foot.
Carrying the Indian flag, singing praises of his motherland, Muktikant says that he has undertaken the daunting task for his villagers and most importantly, to save lives.
Talking to news agency ANI, he said, "I am going to meet the Prime Minister and request him to fulfill his promise of completing the construction of a bridge, and upgrade Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela to a super speciality hospital." He embarked on the journey and even collapsed near Agra in Uttar Pradesh, where he was admitted to a hospital by the locals:
In his mind, he is clear that the purpose is bigger than him or even his life. Explaining his motivation for undertaking the journey, he says that, "Ispat General Hospital is the lifeline of Rourkela, and it is in such a bad shape that people die there every day. I am hopeful that even though the PM did not fulfill his promise in the last four years, he is going to do something in this year."
Muktikant said that the Indian flag has given him the courage to embark on the journey and he is confident that he will get to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that he can request him to fulfill the promises made years ago.
