Times Now Reporter Shoves Female WION Journalist to Get Quote at Aero India Event, Apologises after Video Goes Viral

Bengaluru, February 20: A brief scuffle broke out between two reporters of Times Now and WION news channel during a one-on-one interview at Aero India event in Bengaluru on Wednesday. In a bid to get quotes from a guest, a reporter of Times Now shoved a female journalist of WION channel. After the video of the incident went viral, the Times Now journalist, identified as Srinjoy Chowdhury, issued an unconditional apology.

Nischita Verrendra, a journalist associated with WION, was taking quotes from a guest when Srinjoy Chowdhury intervened. In the video, Chowdhury is seen pushing Verrendra away in his attempt to ask questions, which left the WION journalist agitated. She tries to continue her interview but Chowdhury shoved her again. After facing flak, Chowdhury apologised. "Unconditional apologies to Wion reporter for what happened this morning. Deeply regret a moment of unacceptable conduct. Begging forgiveness. Regards," he tweeted. Verrendra, however, seemed unconvinced by his apology.

"It's hard to believe this apology since you told me and I quote 'Yes, I don't have decency on field' and 'you are not worth being manhandled'. So let's just accept that we have an indecent reporter amidst us," she wrote in response to Chowdhury's tweet.
