Over the last few years, we have seen brands and their love for churning out women-centric campaigns. In fact, it has become a trend lately and as we approach Women’s Day, which falls on March 8, this number just increases. There are numerous brands, who want to ride on this topical wave. However, it has often happened that in their quest to be topical and newsy, brands blindly jumped onto it. This has not helped them because the audience has failed to identify with the issue and the brand connect has been extremely weak.
On the other hand, we have also seen some powerful ads revolving around women and their achievements. These ads have touched upon important issues like sexual harassment, workplace biases, domestic violence; spoken about women empowerment; instilled confidence in women; and urged women to speak up.
