The Titan submersible, which visited the Titanic wreckage site in the mid-Atlantic, has reportedly imploded, killing all 5 onboard. While the incident is disheartening, an eerie similarity from a The Simpsons episode has come up, and netizens are amused with how the show, time and again, manages to ‘predict’ things from the future. The Simpsons Writer Talks About His Trips on the Lost Titanic Submarine.

An episode from the show aired in 2006 titled “Homer’s Paternity Coot” features Homer Simpson’s long-lost father, Mason Fairbanks, going under the sea with his son. After exploring for some time, the duo sees some remains of a massive ship with a treasure next to it. They start radioing their friends to tell them about it when their submersible gets stuck to a portion of a reef. The submersible displays a ‘low oxygen’ light before it starts descending further. While the show’s episode had a happy ending, with Homer waking up three days later in the hospital, the same cannot be said about what happened to the Titan.

A TikTok user found out about the episode of Simpsons, and since then, the clip has been shared multiple times on social media as netizens find it crazy how the show, time and again, manages to get everything so aptly right.

Count on The Simpson!

Scary

Does it Again!

It is no surprise that the events in the series bring close similarity to what happened on the Titan submersible. The uncanny resemblance between a father-son duo being on board, then the ship heading to a shipwreck and lowering oxygen levels cannot go unnoticed. Meanwhile, creator Mike Reiss who had gone on three different expeditions with OceanGate, the company which owns Titan, gave a statement that he was not optimistic about finding the lost submersible.

The legendary cartoon show has been on the air for 30 years, and it is said to predict so many other events that have occurred in real in the past. It is actually scary to believe that some of it has actually been coming true over the years.
