Tennis Balls Are Yellow or Green? Roger Federer Picks His Color

The internet is back with the color game and this time it is a tennis ball that is sending everyone into a tizzy. After 'The Dress' and 'The Shoes', tennis balls are dividing the internet over its color. While we would again like to believe it's poor lighting and flash photography that is leading to the confusion, the internet is already split. And unknowingly adding fuel to the fire, legendary tennis player Roger Federer picked a color. When asked what he thinks is the color the ball, Federer said it's yellow.

While tennis balls are generally yellow in color, the ball in question seems to be green or maybe yellow, well, it's for the internet to decide! Chartreuse, lime green, or neon yellow are other colors people are vouching for.

In Chicago on Monday, when Federer was meeting fans and posing for selfies, he was asked, "Hey Roger, are tennis balls green or yellow?"

He replied saying, "They are yellow, right?"

Laughingly the man says, "I think they are green, my son thinks they are yellow."

Federer then smilingly insists saying, "They are yellow."

So the big debate began after a Twitter poll asking, Please help resolve a marital dispute. You would describe the color of a tennis ball as." The options included green, yellow and others. With more than 29,000 votes both green and yellow are close rivals with each having 52 percent and 42 percent votes respectively.

After the world's number one ranking men’s tennis player said it's yellow, many have sided with him. Well, who will want to disagree with the legend himself? According to the International Tennis Federation, "the ball shall have a uniform outer surface and shall be white or yellow in color."
