Swedish Mother Changes Her Son's Name After Tattoo Artist Misspelt It on Her Arm
The woman thought it would be more intelligent thing to would be to rename their two-year-old child.
When Johanna Giselhall Sandstrom, a 30-year-old mother from Sweden had her second child, she decided to get the names of both her kids tattooed on her. Johanna went to a local tattoo artist to ink the names of daughter Nova and son Kevin on her arm. But things did not go as planned when the tattoo artist inscribed Kelvin instead of Kevin. She noticed the blunder which was permanently marked on her body only after the artist completed.
Johanna told local newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning, "My heart stopped, and I thought I was going to faint." She added saying, "The artist drew the design and didn't ask anything about the spelling, so I didn't give it any more thought." On seeing the mistake, Johanna immediately rushed to the tattoo studio only to be told that laser surgery could be the solution. Now that being a painful process, Johanna did not want to go through it. The tattoo artist also offered her a refund saying could not undo his work.
Expressing her dismay, she said, "I had never heard the name 'Kelvin' before. There isn't anyone who names their kid Kelvin." Johanna then thought of a cunning idea, to change her son's name! Yes, she officially got her child's name changed to match the name on her tattoo.
After discussing the issue with her husband, they came to the conclusion that it would be more intelligent thing to would be to rename their two-year-old child. Adding she said, "So when I thought more about it, I realised that no one else has this name. It became unique. Now we believe it is better than Kevin."
