Jewelers Vishal Agarwal and Khushbu Agarwal from India's diamond capital of Surat have broken the Guinness World Records for crafting a ring with the most number of diamonds. It has a staggering 6,690 diamonds embedded into a single ring. The jewellers constructed the 18 karats rose gold structure using a base component and 48 individual diamond encrusted petals. It is in the shape of a lotus flower and weighs more than 58 grams.

It took the makers six months to design and craft the intricate detailing in the ring. The ring which costs over Rs 28 crore (Rs 28,21,02,829 to be exact) was manufactured by Hanumant Diamonds artisans, based in Mahidarpura, Surat. Khushbu, who owns Hanumant Diamonds funded the project while Vishal created the design.

Talking about the achievement, Vishal and Khushbu told officials at Guinness World Record, "As fame is so much attached to a Guinness World Records title, we can put it to good use by bringing together like-minded people to work towards a beautiful world." The Guinness World records team personally verified all the diamonds and assure the veracity.

Reportedly, the jewellers decided on the lotus design to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation and "the beauty growing in the water-world". With the lotus ring, the makers just took the record from Savio Jewellery's Peacock Ring that earned the name for installing 3,827 cut diamonds in a ring in 2015.
