Sona Mohapatra Says She Will Go Naked to Trolls Targeting Her Latest Devotional Song 'Ahe Nila Shaila'

The tweets show that Sona is strict about not taking any nonsense that has been said to her.

Singer Sona Mohapatra is not new to controversies usually around her work. The songstress is again caught in turmoil created by trolls after an old video of her surfaced online. A video of her stage performance in 2017 was uploaded on YouTube in which she is singing a devotional song. People on social media have targetted her for mispronouncing many words in her rendition of the song Ahe Nila Shaila. This bhajan has been written by ‘Bhakta Salabega’, who was a saint poet, in the 17th century. Claiming her has degraded by taking away the soul and also passed comments on the attire she has worn in the video. The singer hit back at these trolls with no words barred, asking them to shut up. She also threatened that would even go to the length of going naked to prove her stance on their claims. The claims made by some trolls have truly outraged the singer and she chose to hit back at them instead of ignoring. People said that she has mispronounced many words in Ahe Nila Shaila song. The outrage among the people went ahead to them burning effigies of the singer in Odisha's city Puri. When the outrage first began, Sona addressed to the people and media together explaining her outfit in the video performance.  But another user went ahead and commented more on her outfit and called her a shame to their culture. That's when Mohapatra totally lost her cool.

The tweets show that Sona is strict about not taking any nonsense that has been said to her. This is not the first time she has been mired in such a controversy. The singer had even received threats from Madiyar Sufi Foundation for another of her song. She was called obscene and defamatory and was asked to pull down the video from all platforms.
