A lesbian penguin couple is all set to become parents after the aquarium authorities at Sea Life in London let them adopt eggs. The two female Gentoo penguins have welcomed their babies after proving to the aquarium officials that they would be good parents. Marama and Rocky have been together for five years and their relationship continues to be strong. The names and genders of the little ones are yet to be revealed. The egg was moved from its birth mom as she was already raising two chicks. Gay Penguin Couple Sphengic From Sydney Welcome Their Baby, View Cute Pic of The Newly-Born Penguin Chick.

According to the aquarium officials, the same-sex couple has shown excellent parenting skills in the past two years. They have built the biggest nest in the colony and have allocated shifts to each other. They share a very strong bond, bow to each other and give each other chances to swim and feed. #LoveIsLove at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium! Marama who is the older of the pair is the protective one among both the chicks. Rocky who is more of a free-spirited one is quite keen to teach the new ones all about being a penguin. These penguins were photographed with an LGBTQ+ Pride banner celebrating the annual parade. Marking Pride, the sign saying 'some penguins are gay, get over it' was erected in the Penguin Beach enclosure this week. The place has several same-sex couple birds including Humboldt penguins Ronnie and Reggie. Same-sex penguin couples have been found in both wild and captivity. They are said to mate for life.

Daily Mail quoted General manager Graham McGrath as saying, "Marama and Rocky have taken to becoming parents like ducks to water - or should I say penguins. Caring for a newborn is tough for anyone, from the sleepless nights to the constant feeding, yet this wonderful pair of penguin parents are completely unflappable and seem to be taking it all in their stride."
