Hospitals are considered as a safe haven for those who require medical treatment. But, off late we have witnessed a number of cases of medical inattentiveness. One such horrible case was reported from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Two patients admitted with injuries from a railway accident were seen lying on bed with their hands and legs tied in emergency ward of Aligarh Muslim University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, as reported by ANI. It is really disheartening to see such images from a medical college.

Pictures of Two Patients Tied to Bed

Commenting on the news, SH Zaidi, CMO, Jawaharlal Medical College said, “They are being treated by senior doctors. Our beds don’t have side guards. The patients don’t have any relative with them and our staff can also not sit here all the time. So, we have tied them to the bed to stop them from falling.”

Shocking Video of How Patients Are Handled at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College

This is not the first time; UP’s hospitals have been the limelight for horrible medical negligence in the past as well. In another horrific incident of medical sloppiness in Uttar Pradesh, a patient with severed leg was left unattended on a stretcher for over two hours at Sultanpur district hospital. The separated leg of the patient was kept between his thighs, rather than storing it in ice. And earlier this month in an appalling incident in Jhansi, UP, doctors at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College used the amputated leg of a patient as a pillow under his head.
