Shocking Honour Killing Case! Man Stabs Daughter to Death on the Eve of Her Wedding in Kerala

Honour killing cases are not new in India, it has been prevalent since ages and fresh cases of such gruesome incidents being reported in the country even today, makes us believe that things haven’t changed much. As per reports, a 21-year old woman was stabbed to death by her own father a day before her wedding at Areekode in Malappuram district of Kerala. The accused has been arrested.

Reports highlight that the deceased was in love with a man from Koilandy in Kozhikode. The girl’s father didn’t approve of their relationship and was against it. However, with the intervention of the Police, the family agreed to their marriage.

But, fate had written a different story for the girl, the victim’s father in an inebriated state, entered in an altercation and ended up stabbing his own daughter. She was rushed immediately to the hospital, but was declared brought dead by the doctors. The police have taken the accused into custody. The victim worked as a technician in the dialysis unit of a government medical college at Manjeri in Malappuram district. The man with whom, she was in a relationship was a Dalit and because of this reason, her father never approved their love.
