Shailza Dwivedi Murder Case: Do We Need Police & Courts? Media Trial Revealing Personal Information is Immoral
The murder case of Shailza Dwivedi is focusing more on the personal life than actual investigation.
Indian Army Officer Amit Dwivedi's wife Shailza Dwivedi was murdered in Delhi on June 23. The accused of the crime is another Army officer Nikhil Handa. With the involvement of army officers, the murder case is being covered widely and has been spanning across all TV news channels. Now more and more details of the ongoing murder investigation are coming up, but the focus is turned on the affair between Handa and Shailza. Both the police and the law will carry out the proceedings but it is of no help to give out every tidbit of the investigation, more so related to the affair. The incident is a sensitive matter for the family but the media seems to have ignored it and once again resorted to the technique of 'sensationalism,' what it does best. It is immoral to divulge in personal life details of a deceased individual.
Now, Handa has agreed that he was madly in love with her and wanted to marry. Post his argument with her, he killed her and threw her off the car. Shailza's dead body was found on the road at Brar Square in Delhi with slit throat and face run-over by a vehicle. Handa wanted to show it as an accident but has now admitted to the crime. Shailza's family would be traumatized and she is survived by a six-year-old son, who probably is young to fathom but is plastered to images of his mother on TV screens. The focus has shifted to discussing the personal lives of Nikhil and Shailza, discussing their meetings and what prompted the affair. Now the call details between the two have been revealed and it would not be surprising if some of their conversations are also being shown in public. During the questioning Handa revealed how Shailza was obsessed with him and forcing him to leave his wife and marry her. But what occurs is Handa wanted to 'get rid' of her and chose to finish her off! A similar thing happened even during the case of Aarushi Talwar murder case when the media had all its theories as to who killed, who was accused and what would have happened.
The accused admitting to commit the crime is vital to solve a murder case but right now, to determine Shailza and Handa's 'friendship' has also become a major concern. How they met, where they met, what kind of a relationship they shared has been more in the media even before the official revelations. It is in the hands of the justice to decide his punishment and further investigations are still being done. These have nothing to do with Shailza being a participant of Mrs India Earth pageant in 2017-18. The morality of their 'relationship' will be questioned. The media carrying a own trial of itself is not how a report of murder mystery should be played out. We hope Shailza Dwivedi's soul rests in peace, amid all the irrelevant details that are openly discussed.
