The second phase of polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is currently underway. Voting is being held at a total of 95 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 13 states. Just like the first phase, the second phase also saw a large number of senior citizens outside polling booths despite their health concerns. In the first phase, 107-year-old Sumitra Rai became Sikkim's oldest registered voter to exercise franchise in the Lok Sabha polls. She had come to Kamrang Government Secondary School polling booth in the Poklok Kamrang constituency on a polling booth. A man over 100 years had also voted in Mokokchung district of Nagaland last Thursday. In the first phase, 92-year-old Dr D N Sanghani had grabbed eyeballs when he walked into the polling booth accompanied by his 60-year-old son in Gondi district of Maharashtra. After voting, the duo had appealed to the youth and vote. Similarly, the second phase also saw a large inflow of old people who came to exercise their right, making themselves an example for others to vote. 105-year-old Kavaibai Kamble along with her family to cast vote at a polling booth in Maharashtra.

80-year-old patient comes directly from hospital
Jogindero Devi did not let her ailing health stop her from voting. She came on a wheelchair directly from the hospital in Kathua district where she is undergoing treatment. She was photographed outside polling booth number 2 in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. After casting the vote, she returned back to the hospital.

Two 90-year-olds cast vote in Bihar
90-year-old Urmila and Usha cast their votes at polling booth number 39 in Bihar's Bhagalpur. One of them was carried by security personnel outside the polling booth. Voting is being held in five constituencies in the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 today. Polling is underway for Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur and Banka districts.

Senior citizen couple vote in Bengaluru
In Karnataka, a senior citizen couple voted thus proving as an example for the youth to vote. Daunting the intense heat, 91-year-old Shrinivas and 84-year-old Manjula, cast their votes at a polling booth in Jayanagar of Bengaluru South Parliamentary constituency. Polling is underway in 14 constituencies of southern Karnataka.

Meanwhile, India's first voter, 102-year-old Shyam Saran Negi will cast his vote in Himachal Pradesh on the seventh phase of the General Elections on May 19. The Election Commission had announced that the voting for General Elections 2019 will take place in seven phases.
