September 6 is a historic day for India and a moment of pride for its citizens, quite literally. The Supreme Court decriminalised the Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which considered gay sex a criminal offence. It is no longer criminal for the LGBTQ community to engage in consensual gay sex in private. Everyone has welcomed the move and there is an outpour of happy reaction on social media.
