A Class 9th student from a government school in Kamarajnagar, 90km south from Bengaluru, was shocked when he reached his school and opened his back to find out that a cobra was nestling between his books. After returning home from school on Friday evening, the boy is said to have dumped the bag in a corner of his room. He hadn’t opened his bag till he went to school on Monday, the student told his teachers.
“It would have been tragic if the boy had put his hand in the bag instead of looking into it,” a school official was quoted. The officials also said that the snake may have snuck into the boy’s house and entered the bag. “What is shocking is the fact that he walked for nearly 1km with the snake inside,” the school officials added.
