Mumbai, September 28: Kerala, popularly known as God's own country was recently devastated with one of the worst floods that occurred in the state in the last 100 years. Several lives were lost and lakhs of people were displaced in the state which banks heavily on tourism. The state continues to reel under the effect of the deluge and on this occasion, Samsonite India has launched their latest ad titled 'Kerala is Open', which urges people to rebuild the state's economy and revive its tourism. NASA Releases Images of Kerala Floods; Take a Look at Before and After Images of the Devastating Calamity.

In this film, the brand urges tourists to visit Kerala because people in the state are eagerly waiting to welcome them. The short film is extremely impactful and stands strong in terms of brand recall as well. The reason being, when other brands are telling people to donate, here comes Samsonite with a different message and tonality- to revive the lost charm and the tourism of the state.

Commenting on the thought behind the campaign, Anushree Tainwala- Executive Director-Marketing, Samsonite South Asia, said, “Through this campaign, we hope more and more people travel to Kerala. We want people to recognise that the only thing more unique than Neelakurinji is the heart of the people in Kerala. So let’s now embrace the spirits of the people and travel to Kerala because #KeralaIsOpen.”

What stands out in the creative and in its execution is that it is a purely humanitarian ad. For not a second does it feel that Samsonite is trying to focus or highlight its brand. The subject continues to be in the main focus and the brand takes a backseat. Let us know your views on the latest Samsonite ad by commenting below.
