Remember the Russian ‘spy whale’ Hvaldimir? Well, the beluga whale seems to get itself a new partner. The while whale was spotted being friendly with a seagull in Hammerfest harbour, Norway. It repeatedly made attempts to be pals with the seabird. The video, which is about three minutes shows the whale continuously lurking under the water, following the gull’s path before popping up to nudge it every second. It is an adorable clip that was taken by a man, who was working on his ship in the Norwegian harbour and it is going crazy viral online. In the video, the giant seagull can be seen carrying a fish in its mouth. The bird paddles across the water as Hvaldimir heaves upwards and gently bite it, trying to get its attention. The whale continues to follow the seabird’s path and poking it every second, while wiggling his fins and tail in the water. The person who was recording the moment, can be heard giggling to spit Hvaldimir’s attempts.
However, the seagull seems to be undeterred by the event as it continues to paddle across the water to get the fish it had dropped. The attention-seeker whale quickly grabbed its food. And both seemed to have quite a revolt between the duo, in which the video ends.

Hvaldimir was noticed by fishers near Hammerfest in northern Norway in April this year, wearing a camera harness. After being freed from the harness, the whale remained in the area, often spotted being friendly with visitors. Speculation that Russian authorities had trained the water animal for spying purposes led it being dubbed Hvaldimir.
