Murmansk, June 7: It is common to hear cars, bikes, mobiles, laptops and even ATM Machines being stolen, but have you ever heard a rail bridge being stolen. Residents in Russia's Murmansk were shocked after a 56-tonne bridge mysteriously disappeared. The bizarre this is that the metal structure disappeared without a trace. Around 10 days ago, pictures of the bridge were shared by VK, which showed a portion of the bridge broken down and debris lying in the water below. Now, there are no signs of a broken bridge. “Natural phenomena could not bring down the bridge. The investigation into the matter is underway. According to Kirovsk police, thieves did this to sell scrap but the identity and the way they operated this crime are still unknown. After the episode, locals speculated that the bridge is stolen and submitted a report to Kirovsk police. Meanwhile, there is a reason everyone speculating about metal thieves as its not the first time that infrastructure is stolen. In 2008, Russian police hunted mental thieves who stole a 200-tonne bridge in a night-time raid.
