Rahul Bose's Expensive 'Two Bananas' Experience Inspires BMC and UP Police to Raise Cleanliness Awareness

Bananas have become a centre of news after Bollywood actor Rahul Bose pointed out the controversial price of the fruit in Chandigarh's JW Marriott. In the latest, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Uttar Pradesh 100 (UP 100), an emergency services for public safety, have used a related version of the ongoing banana meme to raise awareness.

BMC in a tweet captioned "Make your priceless contribution in keeping the city clean!" said that, "It costs Rs 0 to put banana peels into the dustbin after eating them." JW Marriott Chandigarh Fined Rs 25,000 for ‘Over-Charging’ Actor Rahul Bose for Two Bananas.

In a similar awareness initiative, 'UP 100', the Uttar Pradesh Police Emergency Management System, tweeted a picture of a man stepping on Banana peel with a warning that "it may cost you more than Rs 442.50". The post also advised people to throw garbage in the dustbin.

Recently, Rahul Bose had shared a clip on Twitter where he narrated an uncommon experience of paying Rs 442.50 for two bananas at posh five-star JW Marriot Hotel. The 51-year-old actor tweet went viral by storm and netizens started sharing their own 'Rahul Bose moments'. Following this, the Excise and Taxation Department of Chandigarh imposed of Rs 25,000 to the hotel for overcharging 'Dil Dhadakne Do' actor.
