Queen Elizabeth II Health Update: Ministers Do a Rehearsal of Post Death Proceedings, Thankfully Queen Recovers

Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom is going through a health scare and for the first time, the government ministers conducted an exercise to practice for the funeral ceremony! Cabinet ministers and Whitehall officials met for an exercise which is called as Castle Dove, a day after the monarch's death. Although the Queen has bounced back from an illness, the rehearsal was about the protocol to be followed post her death.

This is the first time civil servants and politicians came together to discuss such a plan, which includes the Prime Minister's speech addressing the nation. According to a report in Sunday Times, "This is the first time different ministers have come together in one room. Previously it has only been officials." The Queen turned 92 this year and recently even cancelled her visit to the St Paul's Cathedral because she was 'under the weather.' A doctor was called in at the last minute. The event was service at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of Michael and St George. But now she has battled through and will be in Scotland this week. Despite her health scare, she is busy attending a long list of events. She was a part of close to 300 engagements in the year 2017. The 'Castle Dove' also known as 'D+1,' requires a broad plan with a routine of the mourning period and the following royal succession. There are other codenames for the funeral process, popularly also called as Operation London Bridge.
